Hi, I’m Gill and I’m the person behind Sewing Escapes. You might recognise me from Instagram (@theonearmedsewist) or from The Great British Sewing Bee \ud83d\udc1d. Learning to sew has helped transform my life, I feel comfortable with my body and love who I am, and sewing has given me the most amazing friendships. I started Sewing Escapes to try and offer this to other people, creating sewing events to bring like minded people together and offering a place to learn, share and elevate sewing skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My amazing friend Vicki Reid<\/a> helps out with some of the organising and planning that goes on behind the scenes, as well as the social media and co-hosting retreats. It might be Vicki who replies to your emails, messages or comments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Our popular retreats offer two days of sewing, where you escape and immerse yourself in a lovely setting, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and with lots of support and mentoring. Hosted by Gill Thomas with a special guest host. The perfect way of combining a lovely mini break with sewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kind of like a mini retreat, a day of sociable sewing, surrounded by sewing inspiration. Hosted by Gill Thomas these are lovely relaxed days, where you bring your own project.
